Sporting CP defeats S.L. Benfica to become the Taça de Portugal aka Cup of Portugal in English champions for the 18th time. The match was played on Sunday, 25th May at the National stadium of Portugal which Benfica is a tenant of.

  • The stadium was all red due to the majority support to the Benfica squad who kept the lead and dominated on the fireld till the extra time.


  • The goal of Viktor Gyokeres in the 99th minute helped equalise the match to 1-1.


  • Conrad Harder and Francisco Trincao were the best performers with a goal and an assist each.
